What I read and bought this month

Wow.. January flew by! I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for a month already! This month started really well with reading and then I started work again and it slowed down. But I still managed to read a few books! And buy a couple of books.. Well, I ordered a couple and they didn’t arrive until now, so technically I didn’t buy them this month, but let’s just pretend I did πŸ™‚

These are the books I’ve read this month! Some of the reviews are already online, like Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Everything Leads to You and Slay. The others will hopefully up soon! The Princess and the Fangirl just before publication of course (spoiler alert: I’M VERY EXCITED!).

So this month was a bit different in regards to buying books. Steph @ bookslovereaders basically banned me from buying any book until I finished Gemina and Obsidio. I had bought them and she put me on a ban before they even arrived, so I had to wait a long time before I could even start reading them (they’re here now, but they’re soooo big). Before that happened, I had the opportunity to buy (and receive) a couple of books (thank god).

I’m very excited to read all of these! I’ve already read Illuminae, and am currently reading Gemina (among a few others). Poems to live your life by is this amazing book with poems chosen by Chris Riddell. He then drew beautiful pictures to go with it. I will definitely be reviewing this books, and I will add pictures of the drawings, so everyone can see why I fell in love with this book almost immediately!

Another book I’m really really excited about is King of Scars!! It’s arriving today and I will probably spend my entire weekend reading it (probably start Friday night). Hopefully I can wrap my head around it and write a review fairly quick after it, because then I can start reading everyone elses reviews! Don’t want to read them before I write mine, and let it change my opinions right ;).

Have you read any of these books? Or have you bought others that I should definitely read? Let me know!

Until next time,

Ahhhhhh Illuminae! I really want to get back into the series so I can finish Obsidio because my library kindly kicked me out of my spot in the audiobook (how rude). I’m excited for King of Scars as well but I still need to read Crooked Kingdom and I’ve heard from others that it’s best if I read both the Grisha and Six of Crows series first before diving into Bardugo’s latest.

Oh well. It’s a long wait, anyways. πŸ˜‚
