Fairyloot unboxing!

For those of you who look at this title and don’t know what it’s about; Fairyloot is a Fantasy book subscription box. Every month, they feature a new Fantasy book along with bookish goodies that match that months theme. I’ve been getting these boxes since 2016 I believe, and I thought it would be fun to share my unboxings here and tell you all about the new book and amazing artists featured in the box!

January’s theme was Unbreakable Bonds, and there were some pretty awesome fandoms featured in this box! First up is this doublesided pillowcase with ‘The Raven Cycle’ art by Monolimeart and KDP Letters! I absolutely love pillow cases and I have a few. Unfortunately this wasn’t really for me, as I couldn’t really get into The Raven Cycle books, so I am gifting it to Isabelle! The only thing I’m regretting is that I didn’t send it sooner because she went to Maggie Stiefvaters writing seminar yesterday 😦

Up next is an amazing woodmark by Ink and Wonder Designs. It’s inspired by The Lord of the Rings and absolutely beautiful! The picture also shows two of the collectable tarot themed trading cards. Fairyloot asked their buyers what books we wanted featured on them and the first one was A Court of Thorns and Roses! The next items are a Will and Jem candle from The Infernal Devices by Geeky Clean, and a Six of Crows inspired hairband designed by Fictiontea Designs. As I might have said before, I’m not a huge fan of Cassandra Clares books, so I don’t really care for the label, but it smells amazing!

So I did a stupid thing and didn’t take a picture of the last two items, but you can always see them in the last, complete unboxing picture on the bottom of the post! They are a Three Dark Crowns inspired Lip Balm by Book and Nook, and a box with salted caramel hot chocolate by The Tea Leaf Co with art inspired by The Remnant Chronicles.

And!! Now it’s time for the book! This book features epic friendships, magic-wielding ninjas and romance!

The book featured in January’s Unbreakable Bonds box is Circle of Shadows by Evelyn Skye! Look guys it has sprayed pages!! I’m in love! They’re between grey and purple, which perfectly fits the cover 🙂 I am very excited to read it, this is what it’s about:

Sora can move as silently as a ghost and hurl throwing stars with lethal accuracy. Her gemina, Daemon, can win any physical fight blindfolded and with an arm tied behind his back. They are apprentice warriors of the Society of Taigas—marked by the gods to be trained in magic and the fighting arts to protect the kingdom of Kichona.

As their graduation approaches, Sora and Daemon look forward to proving themselves worthy of belonging to the elite group—but in a kingdom free of violence since the Blood Rift Rebellion many years ago, it’s been difficult to make their mark. So when Sora and Daemon encounter a strange camp of mysterious soldiers while on a standard scouting mission, they decide the only thing to do to help their kingdom is to infiltrate the group.Taking this risk will change Sora’s life forever—and lead her on a mission of deception that may fool everyone she’s ever loved.

Sounds good right? Hopefully it’ll be as amazing as I think. I’m definitely going to write a review about it, whether it’s good or bad, so if you’re not sure if you want to read it, ou can wait and see 🙂

Pricewise it’s a pretty good deal. One box is about 30 euro’s, and you get a hardcover book, which is signed most of the times (or a signed bookplate). And then (I think) 4 to 6 bookish goodies, and the art is almost always new and exclusive so you’ll never get something you’ve gotten before. I do want to say that obviously since the book and the items are a surprise, you might not always like or want everything, but there are always people that would love it. You can give something away or sell it. But overall it’s pretty awesome most of the time!

The upcoming March box is already sold out. It’s their third anniversary box, and those boxes are always pretty popular, so this was expected. But definitely keep an eye on their instagram account to see if they have a few boxes leftover when payments don’t go through. And definitely keep an eye on their instagram when they announce their next theme! It’s always between the first and fifth of every month.

Let me know if you liked the unboxing and if you want me to continue!

Until next time,
