So, you might not have expected to see the ‘part 1/2’. There are so many books coming out this month that I wasn’t sure it was going to fit all in one post. I asked Sam for advice and hearing the amount of books she told me to definitely split it, especially because I add descriptions/information. This post is probably going to contain 9 books, and then in a few days I’ll add the other books!
The Girl the Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young
I’m hella excited for this one and have preordered it a while ago. I loved Sky in the Deep and a couple of my friends already read the book and loved it, so it should be good!
The Girl the Sea Gave Back is out September 3rd.
Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee
Now.. I haven’t been too happy with Mackenzi Lee in the past, but you know.. Loki. I love Loki, not just in the Marvel movies, but the whole myth aswell. And hey, I’m never going to pass up a book about a villain.
Loki: Where Mischief Ends is out September 3rd.
Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake #2) by Victoria Schwab
So this is a MG book, but I really enjoyed the first one. I’d read anything Victoria writes and this one is definitely included. And it deals with ghosts, so it’s perfect to read during Halloween month (that’s October right? Kal?)
Tunne of Bones is out September 3rd.
Great Goddesses: Life Lessons from Myths and Monsters by Nikita Gill
So. Myths, Monsters, Nikita Gill. I love all of these seperately and I really really hope it’s going to be good. AND there are handdrawn illustrations! I haven’t read poetry in a while so I hope it will resonate with me.
Great Goddesses: Life Lessons from Myths and Monsters is out September 3rd.
Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell
I loved Carry On and Fangirl by Rainbow, and this story looks absolutely adorable. I’m excited to add another graphic novel to my collection. Ánd – kind of a spoiler but not really – it’s friends to lovers, which is one of my favourite tropes, even though I hate the word lovers.
Pumpkinhead is out September 5th.
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
Lesbian. Necromancers. Even though the author confirmed there’s very little LGBTQ+ romance in the book and the word ‘lesbian’ is never used, besides on the cover. There are two LGBTQ+ leads, and the POV protagonist is a lesbian whose interest in women is very. obvious. YAY. I’m in love with it already.
Gideon the Ninth is out September 10th.
Life is Short and Then You Die by Kelley Armstrong (and others)
MURDER MYSTERIES! By R.L. Stine, Caleb Roehrig, Kelley Armstrong and so many others! I didn’t know this book existed until I started this list and I’m glad I did find it. I love anthologies and I can’t wait to read this one. It’s perfect to read when ravelling to and from work!
Life is Short and Then You Die is out September 10th.
The Prom by Saundra Mitchell
A graphic novel about someone who wants to go to prom with her girlfriend.. except, the town isn’t as accepting as she hoped. And the one leading the crowd is the mother of the girl she’s been dating.. who’s not even officially out yet. It might not be a bit confrontational and hit close to home, but I’m kind of interested to see how this all plays out.
The Prom is out September 10th.
Inspection by Josh Malerman
So apparantly this book had already been published in March.. but I’ll add it anyway, because I’ve read Bird Box when it just came out and I absolutely loved it! This book sounds like it’s just as creepy so I’ll definitely be reading this as soon as I get it.
Inspection is out September 17th.
And that’s the first half! The second half will have more awesome books and I can’t wait to show the list! It might be up a little late, I’m in the middle of bat season and this week is the final week. We still have a couple of places we need to visit to see if there are any bats present, but I’m going to do the best I can to make sure the post is up in time ❤
